This years Slam Dunk festival line up has been finalised, with ex King Blues vocalist Itch being added, alongside UK band Devil Sold His Soul.
As well as this, a bunch of people have been anounced for a Solo Stage, including The Blackout’s Gavin Butler, and Jonny Craig, best known for his appearance in bands like Dance Gavin Dance and Emarosa.
With ever-growing success, Slam Dunk festival is now in it’s 8th year, and each time it seems to be getting bigger and better.
Established from a club night in Leeds back in 2006, Slam Dunk festival opened it’s South doors in 2010, with the May Bank Holiday weekend including one date in Leeds, and one in Hatfield (Hertfordshire). This year, the festival has expanded to an added date in the Midlands, which also includes the 7 stages and over 40 bands for the extremely reasonable price of around £40. There are also smaller versions of the festival around the country in Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Notable acts who have played the festival in the past include You Me At Six, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Architects, Mayday Parade and Taking Back Sunday.
Falling on my birthday weekend (yay!), Slam Dunk has been my celebration venue of choice for the past 3 years, and I’m definitely most excited for this line up. The bands on my personal ‘need to see list’ consist of:
Deaf Havana, Kids In Glass Houses, Yashin, We Are The Ocean, Jonny Craig, and All Time Low.
So, who can I expect to have a birthday dance with this year?!
