Radio 1 Big Weekend line-up revealed


This years Big Weekend line-up has been announced, with the headliners across the weekend being dominated by males. The annual event which was held in Hackney last year, travels across a bit’a sea to Ireland this year, with the 3 day festival hitting Ebrington.

Big Weekend is a free festival hosted by BBC Radio 1, in which people sign up in hope to be one of the lucky 37,000 ticket holders. This year, allocation was snapped up within an hour. The event takes place May bank holiday weekend (24-26th).

Friday 24th May

Main Stage: Calvin Harris, Chase & Status, Dizzee Rascal, Rudimental, Pete Tong, B Traits, Zane Lowe, Danny Howard, Toddla T, MistaJam.
In New Music We Trust Stage: Rita Ora, A$AP Rocky, J. Cole, Wiley, Maverick Sabre, Katy B, AlunaGeorge, Angel Haze.

Saturday 25th May

Main Stage: Biffy Clyro, The Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club, Labrinth, Foals, Ellie Goulding, Conor Maynard, The Saturdays.
In New Music We Trust Stage: DJ Fresh, Kendrick Lamar, alt-J, Bring Me The Horizon, The 1975, Iggy Azalea, Kodaline, Laura Mvula, Frightened Rabbit.

Sunday 26th May

Main Stage: Bruno Mars, Paramore, Thirty Seconds To Mars, The Script, Olly Murs, Jake Bugg, Wretch 32, Little Mix.
In New Music We Trust Stage: Vamprire Weekend, Disclosure, Bastille, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Everything Everything, Jessie Ware, Miles Kane, We Are The Ocean, HAIM.
