One Direction release movie trailer

Becoming global successes in what feels like overnight, One Direction are now releasing their first official film titled 1D: This Is Us.

Following the likes of Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, One Direction are letting the public into the lives of the being in the biggest boyband on the planet. In this documentary style film, Harry, Zayn, Liam, Niall and Louis introduce us to their lives before being global superstars, visiting old jobs and meeting family members. The trailer (below) gives us a great insite of what to expect to see, including an emotional clip of Zayn buying his mother a house.

One Direction shot to fame after appearing on the seventh series of X Factor in 2010. They were one of the first, if not the first group to be put together on the show, each originally auditioning as solo artists. I think we can all thank Nicole Scherzinger for that suggestion now!

Although not winning the competition and coming third, Simon Cowell soon snapped them up. After various appearances, flying to LA to record their debut album, and of course the X Factor Tour, One Direction then released their first single, What Makes You Beautiful in September 2011. Of course, it shot straight to number one. The rest, is as they say, history.

Now aged between 19 and 21, these 5 guys from the UK (and Ireland, sorry Niall!) have achieved records any musician could only dream of, and if Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never is anything to go by, 1D: This Is Us shall just increase One Direction’s success and will give outsiders a much clearer understanding of this global phenomenon.

1D: This Is Us is ‘coming soon’.
