Top 10 Singles: July 2013

10
Ooh La La – Britney Spears

The original Princess of Pop Britney Spears releases another pop song that sounds like it should’ve been released in the 90’s, but it’s for The Smurfs 2 soundtrack, and who can resist how adorable her son’s are in this video, so who cares?!

9
Cinderella – Diana Vickers

Remember that chick from X Factor 2008 who has the really unique voice and did that constant annoying hand movement? That would be Diana Vickers, and she’s finally releasing some new material after debut, Once, reaching number one in 2010.

8
Thunder Clatter – Wild Cub

Chosen by Hannah, Thunder Clatter is from Wild Cub‘s debut EP, Youth.

7
Best Song Ever – One Direction

I’m sure One Direction are that one boyband you hate to love but just can’t help yourself, and Best Song Ever is that pop song you just can’t help but get out of your head and sing along to stupidly loud when it comes on the radio. I also don’t know how worrying it is that I find the Harry/Zayn thing going on in this video quite hot, but we’ll just roll with it, yeah…

6
Fall Down – Will.i.Am ft. Miley Cyrus

Will.i.Am is no stranger to getting the hottest stars on his tracks, from Cheryl Cole to Justin Bieber, the former Black Eyed Peas star has now nabbed one of the most talked about singers in world, none other than Miss Cyrus.

5
Don’t Think They Know – Chris Brown ft. Aaliyah

Featuring the vocals of an artist that’s unfortunately no longer with us is always going to be a bit daring, but Chris Brown pulls it off well with this single release. Don’t Think They Know features American singer Aaliyah, who died tragically in a plane crash in 2001, at just 22 years old. The video includes holographic pictures of Aaliyah dancing, being a simple yet great tribute to the star.

4
Trampoline – Tinie Tempah ft. 2 Chainz

Finally! The Frisky singer from London is back with his first single from upcoming album. Trampoline is Tinie Tempah’s first release in nearly 2 years, and he certainly still knows what he’s doing.

3
Holy Grail – JAY Z ft. Justin Timberlake

Music BFF’s JAY Z and Justin Timberlake have teamed up on yet another song, following the successful Suit & Tie. Currently a touring duo on the Legends of the Summer tour, Mr Beyonce and Mr Biel are taking over the charts with many of their releases. The new album Magna Carta… Holy Grail is already certified platinum, which makes this the 43 year olds 12th platinum album. JAY Z also recently announced tour dates in London and Manchester for October this year, following his headline performance with Justin Timberlake at Wireless Festival.

2
Take Back The Night – Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake just can’t seem to put the mic down this year, and following his feature on Holy Grail with JAY Z, he hits us with another brand new release from upcoming Part 2 of The 20/20 Experience. Take Back The Night is an upbeat dance track that is bound to make anyone fall in love with disco again. Even without an official video, this song is enough to make you get up outta your seat, and anxiously await the arrival of even more new music from the 31 year old.

1
Slow Down – Selena Gomez

I absolutely cannot get enough of this track and I think former Disney star Selena Gomez has proved herself as a singer in her own right with this second single release from current album, Stars Dance. Move over Wizards of Waverly Place, step in sassy diva!

What’s been your favourite single this extremely hot July?
