Essex four piece We Are The Ocean recently released the video for Chin Up, Son, taken from their third studio album, Maybe Today, Maybe Tomorrow.
Maybe Today, Maybe Tomorrow marks a fundamental change in the sound of We Are The Ocean, being the first release without ex frontman Dan Brown. Chin Up, Son is certainly their most mellow release to date, falling more into the acoustic/folk category rather than the early days of “screamo rock”.
The video is shot in just one take, with just one camera and no editing. Singer Liam Cromby takes all kinds of hits with balls and tape from fellow band members throughout, but continues to perform the song. Half way through, his guitar strap even breaks and he still powers through until the end. A simple and fun video for a simple, yet great song.
