It seems like only yesterday this years Reading & Leeds Fest drew to a close, but we’re now already getting announcements about who’s taking to the stage next summer.
Announced live on BBC’s Radio 1 this evening, Blink-182 have been confirmed to headline one of the days at next years Reading and Leeds Festival. This news is even more special, as it’s been announced to be their only UK show of 2014.
The 3-piece who have been a band for 21 years, headlined the festival back in 2010, which was their first show since reuniting from their brief split in 2005.
Speaking about the announcement, bassist Mark Hopppus said “I’m stoked to play Reading & Leeds 2014. It’s our fourth time playing the festivals, and we’re very honoured. The new year will see us in the studio preparing new music, getting ready to rock the fine people of the UK. Prepare for the fury.”
As well as the Blink-182 news, Radio 1 also confirmed six other acts to be playing the huge festival in August, including Jake Bugg, Disclosure, Of Mice & Men, Metronomy and DJ Wilkinson.
