Manchester 4 piece The 1975 revisited Fearne Cotton at Radio 1’s Live Lounge today to belt out another unrecognisable yet amazing cover.
In 2013, The 1975 covered huge hits like One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful, and So Good To Me by Chris Malinchak. But 2014 sees them taking on electronic pop group Clean Bandit’s number 1 single Rather Be, and of course completely changing the sound so much so, that it easily sounds like something fresh out of The 1975’s discography.
Introducing a saxophone and a 90’s R’n’B sound, Matty, Adam, Ross and George completely revamp Rather Be from it’s usual up-tempo summer club vibe, into this mellow, heartfelt track. Whilst at the Live Lounge, they also did a different fresh take on their own current single, Settle Down.
The 1975 are currently on a massive tour that takes up the majority of 2014, playing in Ireland for the next few nights, and continuing over in France next week. Full list of dates and tickets can be found on their website here.
