Thom Cross – Heavy Sea

With a voice described as Bowie meets Bono – which we couldn’t agree with more – New Zealand-born singer Thom Cross delivers us his debut single, ‘Heavy Sea’.

‘Heavy Sea’ is one of them tracks you find hard to distinguish by genre. Mixed by Grammy Award winner Guy Massey and co-written by Martin Hedstrom, we hear elements of dance, rock, blues and electronic – and somehow, it works.

Thom Cross recently released his debut EP, and songs from it have since featured on NME Radio, as well as the EP’s closing track, ‘O, Constellations!’ being nominated as Track of the Year by the Labelled Independent podcast.

This is certainly a promising start to an exciting year for Thom Cross, and if you like what you hear, you can catch him at one of the following tour dates.

25th February – The Bedford, Balham
11th March – Buffalo Bar, Islington
26th March – Death2Disco @ Notting Hill Arts Club, Notting Hill
25th April – The Barfly, Camden

‘Heavy Sea’ is out now.
