YouTubers help raise money for Sport Relief

Back in December 2013, YouTuber Marcus Butler uploaded this video. Featuring fellow YouTubers Alfie Deyes, Joe Sugg and Jim Chapman, the four piece spontaneously sung along to tracks from the likes of Blink-182, Enrique Iglesias, Backstreet Boys, Peter Andre and Miley Cyrus, all just for a bit of a laugh. A week ago, Caspar Lee was thrown into the mix and “The Official YouTube Boyband” was born (video) – but this time for a very good cause.

With over 8 million subscribers between them, Alfie, Marcus, Joe, Jim and Caspar teamed up with Sport Relief with an aim to raise £50,000. Once this target was hit, the “boyband” would release a fully fledged official music video.

With the help of thousands of loyal viewers across the world, their target was hit in just over a week and today we got what we’ve been waiting for.

The YouTubers take on McFly’s 2005 number one Comic Relief single, It’s All About You, but the 2014 version is of course comically named ‘It’s All Bout You(Tube)’. The 5 boys experiment with typical boyband video props, all-white suits and acoustic guitars included.

As much as we love the video, donations are still of course welcome. If you’re in the UK and want to donate £1, simply text the word BOYBAND to 70011. Or, if you’re not in the UK or would just prefer to donate online, you can donate with the amount of your choice via the website.
