Former front-man of London’s Burning Beard, John Joseph Brill, makes a welcome return with his debut solo single, Muscle And Bone.
Produced by Kristofer Harris of Storybooks, and Andrew Davie of Bear’s Den, Muscle And Bone is the first release from Brill’s upcoming EP, Pieces.
The lyrics “just because I don’t cry doesn’t mean I don’t grieve” is sung throughout this powerful song, inspired by Brill’s recent diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Muscle And Bone’s dark subject matter is portrayed perfectly musically, and even more so visually, in this video directed and edited by Jack Bradley.
If bearded folk-infused talent is what you’re into, we suggest you head down to Notting Hill Arts Club on June 1st, where John Joseph Brill makes his full live band debut as part of Communion Presents.
