June 15th will see the release of a brand new single from Newton Abbot four-piece Still the Mind. The new single, titled ‘Slow Dancing’ is an interesting amalgamation of a range of musical styles, with hints of indie rock ‘n’ roll, memorable hooks and Cobain-esque vocal work.
‘Slow Dancing’ was written by vocalist Matt Palfreman and rhythm guitarist Karl O’Neill in a very short amount of time. Matt says, “Karl was messing around with that riff and I sat down and wrote lyrics about a girl I’d just started seeing at the time. It all came together pretty fast, under an hour. It’s really just a tribute to the excitement of a new love and an expression of the joy that brings.”
Having previously worked with producer Digby Smith (Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton), this band is already off to a great start, and we can be sure to expect more classic rock ‘n’ roll track from these guys. Check out ‘Slow Dancing’ below:
